OK, that's what I thought it must be. Your unit is a "Roadrover C7049NA" for Nissan Altima. Please have a look at this manufacturer site.
[Only members can see the link]
There are three software working on it:
    - MCU-Software: 4.20NA 7H7H65R / that's for all hardware control,
    - OS-Software: EN-PRIMA-ARM-SLC-V1.50 / that's the english Version of Windows Embedded CE 6.0 in version V1.50
    - GUI-Software: you can see very tiny digits at the right top corner of mainmenu screen. I think it should be V1.25.5 did'nt it ? That's the GUI Software you see on screen with all available icons and buttons.

    About your question:
    - Yes it's possible to create own skins. Each skin is stored in a separate folder \StaticStore\D2280\Skins\xxxx. But there is no software to create it. Just selfmade wallpapers, icons etc. are necessary. Some guys at this forum created some nice looking new skins. You can download it and add to your unit. To activate them, file config.ini (in folder D2280) must be modified.
But notice, this is not very easy ! You must act very careful and allways know what to do. Otherwise your unit can hang up at boot and must be installed new completely !

    - Actually the integrated Audio player must be used as it is.
    - But you can use your own mp3 player if you like. Just start it from micro sd like you do with your gps software.

I understand. What about playlists? It looks like it has them but I have no idea how to use them.

Playlists can be created very easy. All songs which are actually loaded, are managed by a temporary playlist which is visable at the right part on mp3 player screen. You can store this playlist for future use. Just open "MENU" and select "Save Playlist...". Then open "MENU" again and select "Clear List". Then open "MENU" and select "Open Audio File..." By default the local memory is selected and there you will see your just stored playlist.

I see. I'm trying to see if there's a better way to navigate MP3s than there is now. It seems you just have to advance through a list of files. My previous GPS was pioneer and it allowed for changing folders. Is there a way to do that?

This software audioplayer works like Winamp does not like a DVD drive controlled audio play function in all other rns units. Winamp also don't support changing between folders. There's a playlist and that's it. But you can load previous stored playlists or open a folder (with all files in it) or open one or more single files. All opened files are collected in that temorary playlist. summary: it's like Winamp.

Thanks. That makes a lot of sense. When you say it's like winamp, does that mean that playlists are compatible between them?

I see. What is the format of the playlists? Is it text? If it's exactly like winamp, can I use a playlist maker to build them in place of folders?

I had a little look at the playlists...they look something like this:

    ᫿eCar Play List Version 1.3䷿\Storage Card\Corky and the Juice Pigs\Corky & The Juice Pigs - Americans.mp3俿\Storage Card\Corky and the Juice Pigs\Corky & The Juice Pigs - Dolphin Boy.mp3䳿

One long string it seems....At least when I open it in wordpad.

Is there any way to change the folder browsing to a list or something? I'd be happy just with being able to sort because it looks like mine is out of order for some reason.
